The Zero-G RoomThe Zero-G RoomHighlights: · The principals are well educated and have over 45 years combined NASA simulator operations and training experience as well as engineering and management experience. · The location for the Zero-G Room at I-45 and NASA Parkway (Webster Town Center) will provide national recognition and exceptional exposure to millions of people. · Extensive training and management support is included in the purchase of a SkyVenture vertical wind tunnel franchise. · Past vertical wind tunnel business performance has demonstrated this to be a very profitable business; the demand for vertical wind tunnel time exceeds supply. The Zero-G Room is a zero gravity simulator recreational facility and an indoor freefall thrill ride built from a vertical wind tunnel (VWT). What do outer space (zero gravity) and skydiving have in common? Both provide the environment in which we are able to move in 3-dimensions precisely and effortlessly. Ask any skydiver or astronaut and they will tell you it is both thrilling and addicting. In the Zero-G Room customers can skydive without the danger or cost involved with jumping out of an airplane. Every 60 seconds in a zero gravity simulator is equivalent to the free-fall associated with skydiving from 12,500 ft. For the space enthusiast, The Zero-G Room breaks the bonds of gravity and gives the average person a chance to feel like an astronaut. This facility is in demand by both the skydiving community as well as the space enthusiast/thrill seeker. As a new attraction in the Space City, it is sure to draw a large number of customers. Project DetailsThe three principal members have a combined 45 years experience in engineering, management, simulator operations and training experience. The principals will work closely with Houston and surrounding area drop zones to strengthen the ties to the skydiving business. One of the top drop zones in the country is just 40 minutes from The Zero-G Room site. The VWT simulator provider, SkyVenture, LLC, has successfully operated a VWT for the past 6 years and has successfully operated other extreme attractions for many years. Our Customers: The Skydiving and Space IndustriesSkydiving is an extreme sport practiced by nearly 540,000 people worldwide, and over 300,000 in the US alone. Texas has the most number of skydiving clubs in the country, with the exception of Florida and California. It is expected that skydiving enthusiasts will account for 50% of the Zero-G Room gross revenues with other Houstonians/tourists making up the other half. The general public is less educated on what a VWT is but the United States space program has been successful in educating the public on the thrill of zero gravity. Customers will be drawn to the Zero-G Room through their love of the manned space program and their desire to experience what the astronauts experience: zero gravity. By combining the need for more skydiving simulators with the space flight theme and locating our facility at the I-45 Interstate and NASA Parkway intersection, we expect to achieve significant revenues by the end of our 1st year. Location, Location, LocationZero-G Room, LLC believes choosing the right location is essential for success. The Company has evaluated and compared such characteristics as traffic count, foot travel, neighboring businesses, lease rates, long-term viability and atmosphere to choose a location. The Company has selected a 1-acre lot at I-45 and NASA Parkway. This “NASA Parkway” location measures high in all these essential areas. The 18-Screen, 83,000 ft2 Cinemark Tinseltown theatre, is the hugely successful anchor for this location, boasting over 1.2 million customers per year. The traffic count for I-45 and NASA Parkway is 340,000 in a 24-hour period. Houston, The Space CityThe “Zero-G Room” provides a unique connection to Houston, nationally known as Space City. The NASA Parkway interchange is the critical central hub for all visitors to the Johnson Space Center, the Clear Lake recreational area, Space Center Houston, the Kemah Boardwalk, Galveston beaches and Moody Gardens. The unique, 100-foot rocket-like structure and Apollo-rocket paint scheme will become a landmark for the area. The Webster Cinemark Theatre is the top performing Cinemark in the Houston Metropolitan statistical area. This area includes a population of 4.83 million and 8,778 square miles, an area only slightly smaller than Massachusetts. Over $400 million is spent on amusement each year in the Clear Lake area (a 15 mile radius)[1]. The Bay Brook Mall is just 1-mile north of the NASA Parkway location. The mall is ranked 2nd among the Houston metropolitan area malls only surpassed by the up-scale Galleria just west of downtown. This is quite an accomplishment considering the size and scale of the Houston metropolitan area. Several very close proximity stores are first in their categories in the Houston metropolitan area. This includes Toys R Us (1-mile away), Starbucks (1-mile), Aaron Brothers (1-mile), Kohl’s (1-mile), Hooters (across I-45) and the Cinemark. The Hooters is the 4th largest (by sales) of all Hooters worldwide (see image below).
NASA Parkway – Cinemark Area
In the next 3-years, an elevated bypass will be completed to provide an alternative traffic path for the substantial NASA Parkway traffic. This NASA Parkway bypass will pass immediately south of the Zero-G Room, providing an elevated view to all the traffic traveling east on the NASA bypass. In addition to the bypass, a new exit at Magnolia for I-45 traffic will be created that will provide direct access to the Zero-G Room. The Company and SkyVentureStephen Messersmith, Dennis Engelbert, and Joaquin Andujo founded The Company. Stephen, Dennis and Joaquin are currently employed as contractors with NASA and have a combined 45 years experience in engineering, management and large-scale simulator operations experience within the Space Industry. The Company will purchase a zero gravity simulator from SkyVenture, LLC. SkyVenture includes wide-ranging consulting services with the purchase of a SkyVenture VWT zero gravity simulator. These services will be used extensively to ensure that The Zero-G Room is successful.
